Financial

Annual Membership Fee credited towards first year EIT/GIT fees: In the year following graduation, student members will receive a credit equivalent to 50% of their total APEG-MAPS fees paid to be applied towards their first year EIT/GIT fee. By investing in MAPS today, you can save yourself money in the future.

Free subscription to Innovation Magazine & Connections e-newsletter: As a member, you receive a direct mail subscription to the Association's official journal. Innovation is published six times annually, while Connections will be delivered monthly to your inbox. Each provides information on trends in the professions and emerging technologies, as well as member news and details of future events.

Professional Opportunities

Resume Referral Program: Looking for an efficient way to generate employment leads? As a MAPS member, you can post your qualifications on our website, and space providing, have them printed in Innovation magazine. With a readership of 18,000 professionals this is the most focused medium for reaching potential employers in BC. APEGBC will pro-actively promote this service to employers and encourage them to look at this roster first when recruiting. See our Employment Centre for more details.

Student-Industry Events: There is no better way to meet potential employers and establish valuable connections than at APEGBC events. This is your chance to hear from professional engineers and geoscientists who are eager to share their insights on career paths and employment opportunities. These events take place throughout the year, and allow students and professionals to talk one-on-one in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

APEGBC Branches: Every APEGBC member automatically gains membership to one of fifteen regional branches, which offer regular talks and tours of professional interest, a monthly newsletter and fun events. As student members, you will benefit from special student pricing to any fee-based branch events. Branch participation provides opportunities for extra-curricular learning, meeting working professionals and gaining insight into the professions and maybe even a concrete "in" through employment leads. Special Student Pricing for Continuing Professional Development Programs and Activities: We understand how tight a student's budget can be, and that's why our events feature reduced prices for APEG-MAPS members. This special pricing extends to our most popular of events, the APEGBC Annual Conference, held in October of each year.

APEGBC Divisions: APEGBC has five club-like divisions. Tailored to a particular interest, divisions attract individuals with common interests for talks, tours and fun. Join a division and form relationships with other members - you never know what opportunities it could lead to.
