For this reason, we have developed the Membership Advantage Program for Students (MAPS), a special class of membership in APEGBC that allows students to begin shaping their future. • Providing students with the means to gain education, contacts and employment, through access to APEGBC services.

Experience Reporting

Engineering and geoscience undergraduate students are able to get up to one year credit from pre-graduate work experience towards their 4 years of work experience that is required to become a professional member. APEGBC has created this guide to assist and support engineering and geoscience students in the reporting of their work experience obtained during pre-graduate work experience. This guide outlines how to record your pre-graduate experience, what is required to receive credit towards your engineering or geoscience in-training status as well as certain steps that you should take.

Student Funding Requests

APEGBC offers funding to engineering/geoscience student organizations or student teams across BC. The Fall deadline to apply for funding is November 18, 2011. Once APEGBC reviews all applications, each organization/team that has applied for funding will be notified.  Funding will be awarded based on a combination of factors which is reflected in our application form. Please note: A spring deadline will also be available. Funding will be subject to availability.

Operational Grants: APEGBC provides annual operational grants to student societies to fund events or activities on campus and participation in student conventions and conferences. APEGBC has sponsored the following university student societies this semester:

APEG-MAPS Student Industry Nights strive to connect students with industry. Professionals are invited to share their experiences, knowledge of industry trends and advice in an informal setting to help students better understand their future professions while increasing and developing valuable relationships with industry.
